School District Spending Data available! — How do Maine's school districts spend their money? Detailed spending data has been available on the state Department of Education's website for years... more
How are Maine's high school students doing on state standardized tests? What percent of high school students are graduating on time?
In Maine, all high school juniors take the Maine High School Assessment test, or MHSA, which is essentially the College Board's college-preparatory SAT test. All Maine juniors began taking the SAT in the spring of 2006, when it replaced the Maine Education Assessment as the state's standardized achievement test for high school. Maine is the only state to use the SAT in this way. A separate science test is administered as well, as the SAT does not contain a science component.
Maine recently changed how it calculates high school graduation rates, and that data is included in our new data center.
